The Friends of San Damiano (the Friends) is seeking an Operations Coordinator (coordinator) to provide operations and organizational support. This person will work with and support the Board President to accomplish administrative, communications, fundraising, and outreach activities of the Friends while interacting directly with donors, City of Monona staff, and Friends volunteers. The coordinator is a goal oriented individual, with strong organizational and analytical skills and displays a professional presence and exceptional disposition. This person organizes, motivates, and leads volunteers to accomplish goals relating to all aspects of a small nonprofit organization, including the following essential job areas:

• ‍Volunteer development, support, and management - The Friends is a primarily volunteer led organization. The coordinator will support the board of directors and the board committees by ensuring volunteers are supported, trained, and aligned in work objectives. Activities will include onboarding new volunteers, assigning and following up on volunteer led projects, and communicating regularly with committee chairs.

• ‍Day-to-day operations of the Friends - The coordinator will manage the Friends email and social media accounts as well as support the day-to-day operations. Activities will include acknowledging donors, ensuring the Network for Good database is updated, updating the website, and supporting logistical support needs for events and outreach.

• ‍Fundraising and Communications - The coordinator will support the Friends’ primary mission to build a constituency of philanthropic support for the future vision of San Damiano. The coordinator will support the board to ensure essential communications and fundraising activities are on track. Activities will include supporting monthly communications, flyers, and website updates; supporting the fundraising committee’s efforts to solicit and steward annual gifts from individuals, businesses, and foundations; and providing coordination and support for events.

About Friends of San Damiano

The Friends of San Damiano was incorporated as a 501(c)3 not for profit organization in July 2020 to “advance the use of the property known as San Damiano as a place for public recreation, interpretive programming, and peaceful reflection.” The Friends group is comprised of residents from Monona, Dane County and beyond, all of whom share a strong commitment to and passion for the property.

As an independent contractor, payment/compensation along with duration of contract will be determined depending on the experience of the person. Additionally, she/he will be responsible for taxes, social security, etc.; there will be no withholding and no benefits.
