The San Damiano property and the Frank Allis House are shared community spaces that require regular maintenance and landscape support. Because of the generous contributions of time and energy from our engaged volunteers, Friends of San Damiano is able to offer a comprehensive calendar of events and activities throughout the year.
Do you have time and talents to contribute to the cause? If so, we'd love to hear from you! There are so many ways to be involved in this once-in-a-generation project, including: event support, property maintenance, mechanical/carpentry/plumbing improvements and fundraising and administrative support. Your help is both welcome and essential. Together, we can honor the rich historical, cultural, environmental, and recreational values of San Damiano that make it so special.
You can give securely online by credit card. The Friends of San Damiano is the official gift-receiving organization for the San Damiano project, and will handle all financial transactions, stewardship of the funds, and gift receipts.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from Your IRA
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from an IRA is a very tax-efficient way to make charitable gifts for those who are over the age of 70½. Many advisors refer to these gifts as "IRA charitable rollovers." The transfer must be made directly to the charitable organization. If you have an IRA checkbook, you can write the check directly to Friends of San Damiano. Please be sure to attach a note that this check is from your IRA. You can give up to $100,000 per year, and your spouse can also give up to $100,000 from his or her IRA.

We thank our partners and our generous community for the gifts that will enable us to conserve San Damiano for public use and enjoyment.
The City of Monona will assume principal ownership of San Damiano, and its leadership is committed to maintaining the property as a public recreational asset in perpetuity. However, as a small City, Monona cannot shoulder the purchase and transformation of the property alone. The City already has received a $2M commitment from Dane County, and will take the lead in securing other public funds.
The Friends of San Damiano is leading all private efforts in support of the purchase, master planning, and site revitalization.
